Post Re: Fly Melita - Press Release
As promised, Fly Melita Virtual has published its programme of events for the scheduled launch date of Monday 1st June 2009. This and more information may be viewed at our website on http://www.flymelita.com

For ease of reference, I am including a copy of the programme in this post:

Launch Day Programme - 1st June 2009
00:00 - 18:30 (CET)

Launch Day:- Various activities including staff postings on external forums, online flights* and meetings in public**.

18:30 (CET)

Opening of the Inauguration Ceremony:- The venue will take place on MSN in video-conference mode using both live speech and video for the purpose of the event. The general public is encouraged to attend this event. Those wishing to attend may add the following address to their contacts list on MSN: fmvlaunch@live.com***. Upon initiation, all contacts will be sent an invite to join the event.
Vice CEO Ryan Pisani will give a brief introduction on the airline.

19:00 (CET)

Conferment of the post of CEO by the Administrative body and the appointment of Administrative staff:- The Administrative body will confer the title and post of CEO to Keith Cauchi upon which a solemn oath will be taken by the latter. Mr. Cauchi will then proceed to appoint his Vice CEO Mr. Ryan Pisani after which, the HR & Crew Ops and Fleet Ops Managers - Mr. Derick Blow and Mr. Alasdair Robertson respectively - will be appointed to their posts. Each member of staff will take a solemn oath upon conferment of the post.

19:30 (CET)

Inauguration of the fleet and presentation of the first official flight:- Fleet Ops Manager Alasdair Robertson will present the fleet to CEO Keith Cauchi and the public. Mr. Cauchi will then proceed to approve the fleet and call forward HR & Crew Ops Manager Derick Blow to present the official flight. Vice CEO Ryan Pisani will ask for HR & Crew Ops Manager Derick Blow's approval of the flight after which, Mr. Pisani will ask for the approval of Fleet Ops Manager Alasdair Robertson. Upon the latter's approval, Mr. Pisani will recommend the flight to CEO Keith Cauchi giving his approval of the flight. Mr Cauchi will then give his approval and proceed to initiate the flight.

20:00 (CET)

Fly Melita's first official flight:- CEO Keith Cauchi will execute the flight from Malta (LMML) to Palermo Punta Raisi (LICJ). Fly Melita's Boeing 737-600 9H-MTI will operate flight no. FMV1010 taking off from Malta International Airport and landing at Palermo Punta Raisi piloted by CEO Keith Cauchi. Being the first aircraft to have adorned the fleet, MTI was thus chosen to be the first aircraft to operate the airline's first official flight. The flight will be logged via ACARS and may be followed through that system. At the end of the flight, Mr. Cauchi will also file the first official PIREP and bring the launch ceremony to an end.

*Online flights on 1st June 2009 are subject to staff availability.

**Meeting events are subject to staff availability.

***The live ID fmvlaunch@live.com is temporary and will be deleted immediately after the launch event is complete. No contacts will be stored.

N.B. The ceremony will be delivered in both Maltese and English languages as befits the airline. Detailed transcripts have been made available containing the ceremony's speech in both languages. Free speech will be delivered in English only.
